25/04/2009 : Under 10s Play Terrific Trio!

Saturday 25th April saw the Solway Sharks Junior Ice hockey Club’s under 10s team take to their home ice at Dumfries Ice bowl to take part in a trio of friendly games with visiting teams Dundee Stars and North Ayr Sabres.  The young Sharks firstly took on North Ayr where they got off to a promising start with Rebecca Nicol sending the puck to Harvey Chambers who went into battle with the Sabres defence and won, slotting the first goal of the day into the top left corner.  Solway’s Lewis Houston showed grit and determination in his efforts to keep the play in the hands of the Sharks - however the Sabres swept in and drove the puck towards the Solway nets scoring their first goal of the day.  Just when the watching support thought the game was to end at even scores Harvey Chambers took the puck around the Ayr nets and neatly slotted in the winning goal for the Sharks ending the scoring at Solway - 2 North Ayr - 1.  Man of the match awards went to Solway’s Lewis Houston and North Ayr’s Lewis Young. ...full story »

20/04/2009 : Dundee Double Up

It has been an inconsistent season for the Solway under 16’s and with few games played recently, the team relished the opportunity to prove their metal against a strong Dundee squad. Though the visitors won the game 2-0, there was nothing between the two teams and Solway can feel hard done by, not to take something from the game. ...full story »

16/03/2009 : SOLWAY SLIP UP

The Solway Sharks Under 12s suffered their first league defeat of the season on Sunday 15 March going down by four goals to two against the Kirkcaldy Redskins. Keen to bounce back from their earlier season defeat to the Junior Sharks the Redskins were clearly well prepared and displayed the right attitude from the outset....full story »
